Kennedi Mullings

I highly encourage anyone to join the Lowe's team. I feel comfortable and safe in my department, and the company as a whole is incredibly welcoming. The positive atmosphere motivates me to come to work and give my best every day.

Over the years, I’ve been fortunate to grow within the company, starting as a cashier and progressing into my current role. Lowe’s also offers numerous training opportunities that empower staff to develop their skills and transition into other roles. These are just a few reasons why I wholeheartedly recommend Lowe’s Wholesale as a great place to work.

I joined Lowe's a few years ago, initially seeking a summer job while planning on attending school. I started in the warehouse, working as a summer student, which eventually led to full-time employment in the boxing area. I soon realized that the longer I stayed, the more I could grow with the company. I later had the opportunity to join the accounts team, working alongside supportive coworkers and managers. Since joining the company, I have been able to receive 2 promotions. Over time, I gained more responsibilities, which helped me progress toward my career goals in accounting. I feel that working at Lowe’s would be a great experience for anyone that wants to take their career seriously and seek out opportunities to progress based on what the company has to offer.

In 2010 I prayed because I had been unemployed for about 7 months. I told the Lord that I was ready for a job according to His Will. I went to a conference, and the speaker said that the Lord told him to tell that person I have heard you, and I'm about to give you a better job than before. After that, I passed by the company and asked myself what it would be like to work for Lowe’s Wholesale, and I got a call from the Managing Director for a job opportunity. Lowe’s allowed me to have a work life balance which allowed me to continue in my calling at the church. The company is a good, stable workplace, and has good benefits for anyone seeking employment.

Lowe's is a great place to work, and the environment is excellent. The staff are treated fairly and there are opportunities for growth. If you want to elevate at the company, stay positive, stay focused, and stay true to yourself. To succeed at the company, you have to work toward your goals. Overall, I am pleased with the leadership team. They are open with the supervisors and open to helping you elevate. Our Warehouse Manager sets a good example by setting clear goals and guidelines. I love that senior management has an open-door policy, which many companies in The Bahamas don’t have. I love my job and strive to give quality customer satisfaction to ensure a high standard is held in my section.

Warehouse Supervisor

I started at Lowe’s Wholesale when I was a 17-year-old as a gift wrapper. At that time, it was the ending of my school year. After that I spoke with Mr. Cash Sr. and he allowed me to stay on during my evening classes at school where I completed my BJCs and GCEs. I went to the College of the Bahamas to study Accounts. After that I studied a 9-month cosmetology course which got me an opportunity at Lowes’. Based on my education I was one of the early staff members instrumental in starting and growing the cosmetology sector of the company. Being a licensed cosmetologist allowed the company to form alliances and create partnerships. Lowe’s needed a licensed Cosmetologist to allow them to sell products. I continued on with the company as a Sales Representative for 10 years, which allowed me to be promoted to a Brand Manager responsible for all of the professional haircare products. Lowe’s is an excellent, caring, well-structured company which looks out for its people. I feel that the company will assist in elevating anyone who is interested.

When I started the company, I started as a Warehouse Cleaner. The company has changed and upgraded from a pen-and-paper system to a more digital format over the years. I got the chance to try a few roles before settling on Warehouse Picker. I feel that I've grown with my time with the company and knew nothing about the pharmaceutical industry before joining the Lowe's. I am happy I got along with my coworkers over the years. I have always felt comfortable with the management team of the warehouse at Lowe's Wholesale. If you are looking to join the Lowe's team, you have to be able to think independently while focusing on your work; consistency plays a significant role in a new staff member's success at Lowe's, and I think it's the key to longevity at the company.
